Our Tagadab servers give you the flexibility and choice of selecting either Linux or Windows distributions as your Operating System.

On setting up your account, you can choose a minimal install or a standard install. The standard install comes with a selection of handy pre-installed software.

  Tagadab Linux Options:

Here you can find all of the Linux distributions that are available for automated installation on our Dedicated and Virtual servers. You have the choice of a minimal install (the distro, SSH server and package manager only) or a standard installation (LAMP etc.).

CentOS

(version 5.3) is a community- supported, freely-available operating system based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. It exists to provide a free enterprise class computing platform and strives to maintain 100% binary compatibility with its upstream distribution. CentOS stands for Community ENTerprise Operating System.

Fedora

(version 11) is an RPM-based, general purpose operating system built on top of the Linux kernel, developed by the community-supported Fedora Project and sponsored by Red Hat. Fedora's mission statement is: "Fedora is about the rapid progress of Free and Open Source software

Ubuntu

(version 10.04), is a free Debian-derived computer operating system based on GNU/Linux. Ubuntu's goals include providing an up-to-date, stable operating system for the average user, with a strong focus on usability and ease-of-installation.

Red Hat (version 5.1)

has become associated to a large extent with its enterprise operating system Red Hat Enterprise Linux and with the acquisition of open-source enterprise middleware vendor JBoss. Red Hat provides operating-system platforms along with middleware, applications, and management products, as well as support, training, and consulting services.

Debian

(version 5) Is a free operating system (OS) for your computer. An operating system is the set of basic programs and utilities that make your computer run. Debian uses the Linux kernel (the core of an operating system), but most of the basic OS tools come from the GNU project; hence the name GNU/Linux. Only available on VPS.

Plesk

Plesk is a web-based graphical control panel that allows you to easily and intuitively administer websites, DNS, e-mail accounts, SSL certificates and mySQL/postgreSQL databases. It starts at £5.00 (ex. VAT) per month for a 10 domain license, and you can add additional features and expand the domain license for an additional monthly fee. Cpanel

WHM/Cpanel is a web-based graphical control panel that allows you to easily and intuitively administer websites, DNS, e-mail accounts, SSL certificates and mySQL. Unlike Plesk it also allows you to easily recompile Apache and PHP through the GUI, making it more flexible in that regard. For more information about Cpanel, please e-mail sales@tagadab.com
