Operating Systems

Our Tagadab servers give you the flexibility and choice of selecting either Linux or Windows distributions as your Operating System.

If you opt for a Linux distribution, you can choose a minimal install or a standard install. The standard install comes with a selection of handy pre-installed software.

Tagadab Windows Options:

Here you'll find some information about the various Windows operating systems that you can have pre-installed on your dedicated or virtual server.

Windows Server 2003

Standard Edition is available in 32-bit. For a feature comparison of the two versions you can check the official Microsoft web site's edition comparison.

At Tagadab we would advise against using Server 2003 now unless you have a specific requirement that warrants its use.

Windows Server 2008

Standard Edition is available in 32 and 64-bit. For a feature comparison of the two versions you can check the official Microsoft website's edition comparison.

Windows Server 2008 R2

Standard Edition are available in 64-bit. For a feature comparison of the two versions you can check the official Microsoft website's edition comparison.

Windows 2008 R2 has numerous functional and stability improvments over 2008, and is our recommended Windows OS.

Windows Server 2012

Standard Edition is available in 64-bit. Windows 2012 has numerous new features (especially in the area of virtualisation) and a new GUI.
