Options and Features

Server solutions from Tagadab offer you the flexibility of choosing either a Linux or Windows distribution as your server operating system. If you opt for a Linux distribution, you may select a minimal, LAMP or desktop install.

Tagadab Windows Options

Windows 2008 Server
Windows Server 2008 R2

Standard Edition is available in 64-bit. To evaluate features for the two versions, check the official Microsoft website edition comparison. Windows 2008 R2 has numerous functional and stability improvements over 2008 and is our recommended Windows OS.

Windows Server 2012

Windows Server 2012 Standard or Windows Server 2012 R2

Standard Edition is available in 64-bit. To evaluate features for the two versions, check the official Microsoft website edition comparison. Windows 2008 R2 has numerous functional and stability improvements over 2008 and is our recommended Windows OS.Standard Edition is available in 64-bit. Windows 2012 has numerous new features (especially in the area of virtualisation) and a new GUI.

Tagadab Linux Options

Linux Minimal

Comes with the minimal amount of software installed including SSH, package manager and system tools. You can install other software as needed.

Linux LAMP

Comes with Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP already installed. If you are Installing Cpanel or Plesk, you will need Linux LAMP. This is a good option if you want to run websites or web applications without the hassle of installing all of the software manually.

Linux Desktop

Includes everything that comes with Linux Minimal, but with an installed desktop environment. This is a good option if you want to run Linux desktop applications (such as Libre Office) or if you prefer a graphical environment to administer your system.

Plesk

Plesk

Plesk is a web-based graphical control panel that allows you to easily and intuitively administer websites, DNS, e-mail accounts, SSL certificates and mySQL/postgreSQL databases. It starts at £5.00 (ex. VAT) per month for a 10 domain license, and you can add additional features and expand the domain license for an additional monthly fee.

CPanel

Cpanel

WHM/Cpanel is a web-based graphical control panel that allows you to easily and intuitively administer websites, DNS, e-mail accounts, SSL certificates and mySQL. Unlike Plesk, it allows you to easily recompile Apache and PHP through the GUI.
